Mystery Build Art Contest
OPEN TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE USA

You are invited to re-invent a work of art in this amazing and unique art contest.
In order to enter, you are required to purchase a Mystery Build Kit for USD $36 which will contain common sculpting materials like wood, clay, metal, fiber, and a few surprises. The kits are 12″ x 9″ x 3″ and contain 5 lbs. of materials. All 2013 Mystery Build Kits are identical.
This year’s theme – “re-invent a work of art” – may be interpreted in any way you wish. It could be the re-creation of a famous painting, sculpture or a new perspective or hidden angle on a familiar work of art.
Please specify what work of art it is that you are re-inventing on the submission form. Any work of art can be used, in any medium from painting, to film, music, architecture, photography, sculpture, culinary arts, etc. The entry should not be a replica of the work, but a re-interpretation, continuation, or unique version of the original artwork.
The steps to enter are:
1. Purchase a Mystery Build Kit
2. Create something amazing
3. Complete a submission form including a written description of your techniques
4. Upload photos and/or videos of your creation to the Mystery Build website, as well as photos or video of the work in progress

You need to have an original idea for a prototype that can be manufactured at Proto Labs, a ”rapid” injection molding company. It should be in the form of a 3D CAD model, should be your original idea, and should not have been previously published or have won any other award.
Most companies provide innovators help once they are already created. This ideas contest is unique as it has been put together in order to help those who have ideas but have not got the funding to get the basic prototype of their idea built.
